Last week, Falling Stars Theatre launched their first competition! A Monologue Competition inspired by Beccy’s monologue a day challenge. Beccy has been creating a different monologue a day influenced by lockdown and looking at how different people might react to the situation. This has been a very rewarding journey for Beccy as her characters change depending on how the situation is changing. Having to create, write and perform a monologue has kept the creative juices flowing and allowed Beccy to flex her performance muscles. The company decided to launch a competition to allow other people to take part in this creative process. We have been overwhelmed by the amount of interest and talent out there and are looking forward to judging the entries.
As a company, we have been having fortnightly Zoom meetings to start gathering ideas for the Edinburgh Festival 2021! We have come up with a really exciting idea and Beccy has already begun to put out feelers in Edinburgh for a venue with a difference, performing in a totally immersive way. Watch this space for my information!
