The River Project

The River Project

Amelia’s homework task is to sit by the river for one minute and write down what she sees and hears. Amelia finds this task “B.O.R.I.N.G boring! Nothing to see, nothing to hear!”

But when Amelia really looks and really listens she finds there is an awful lot to discover;

Arabesque performing Otter
Intellectual, Yoda like, Heron.
Rapid and very cool Kingfisher
Extremely knowledgeable Trout.

Between them can they save the river from further pollution or is it too late?

Join Falling Stars Theatre and a host of memorable characters on the banks of the Aire for a trip down the river like you’ve never experienced before.

An interactive theatre performance for all the family.

The latest health assessments show that still none of England’s river stretches are in good or high overall health. “85% of river stretches fall below good ecological standards.” The State of our Rivers Report. The Rivers Trust 2024.

Falling Stars Theatre hope to encourage young people to take responsibility/ownership of protecting the natural world around them, raising awareness and respect for the river.

This performance is kindly funded by The Aire Rivers Trust, The Wild Trout Trust and Salmon and Trout Conservation WY, supported by Skipton Town Hall with students from Craven College, Skipton.
